Slovenia's industrial production increased from last year in February, preliminary data released by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia showed Wednesday.

Industrial production increased 3.4 percent year-on-year in February. Production in the mining and quarrying sector climbed 13.6 percent annually, while manufacturing production advanced 3.4 percent. There was a 2.2 percent annual growth in the production and supply of electricity, gas, steam and air condition.

Month-on-month, industrial production advanced 3.4 percent in February. During the two months ended February, production moved up 0.8 percent from the corresponding period a year earlier.

At the same time, turnover in Slovenian industries increased 0.2 percent year-on-year in February. Compared to January, turnover rose by 1.5 percent.
