2019.03.2005:22:00UTC+00South Korea Producer Price Inflation At 2-1/2 Year Low

South Korea's producer price inflation fell to its weakest pace in two-and-a-half years in February, data from the Bank of Korea showed on Wednesday.

The producer price index edged down 0.2 percent year-on-year in February, reversing a 0.1 percent increase in January.

The latest producer price inflation was the weakest since September 2016, when prices fell 1.1 percent.

Manufacturing producer prices fell 1 percent, same as in January.

Prices for agricultural, forestry and marine products declined the most, by 5.2 percent annually.

Meanwhile, producer prices for electric power, gas and water supply rose 1.8 percent, while those for services grew 1.2 percent.

On a monthly basis, producer prices edged up 0.1 percent in February, after 0.3 percent fall in the previous month.

The Domestic Supply Price Index rose 0.2 percent yearly and remained unchanged from the previous month.
