2015.09.1102:54:36UTC+00US dollar beefs up on greater speculations of more BOJ easing

The US dollar bolstered Friday as traders raised their prospects of more easing by the Bank of Japan.

On Thursday, the greenback drifted higher on a news report, which stated Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's adviser Kozo Yamamoto said the BOJ's policy meeting on October 30 would be a good opportunity for further monetary easing.

The dollar finished at $1.1248 per euro. Against the Japanese yen, the currency closed at ¥120.82.

Although this was not Yamamoto's first time to openly express his comments on monetary policy, the Japanese ruling party lawmaker seemed to have sealed a cord in the markets marred by mild Japanese data and volatile equities.
